So what's this about anyway? Not much...
which is about what I think of Windows Update as of this writing (late
July 2004). I spent maybe three hours on July 23 2004, trying to get a
couple of Microsoft's critical hotfixes to stop showing up as needing
to be installed-- when I had already installed them-- many times.
How many is many? Too many!... especially after I did all the
recommended things that Google searches could turn up on the problem of
getting certain hotfixes to install themselves and quit showing up on
subsequent visits to Windows Update.
I'm not looking for anymore help on this problem, as I am beyond
caring. I intend to wait until MS fixes whatever the trouble is--
because after everything I tried, all the deleted catroot2 folders, log
files, .cat files, all the time I started and restarted the
Cryptographic service... after all the times I cleaned out the cache
and other temp files and went back to Windows Update for another
beating-- after all that, I know two things for sure-- 1 is that the
problem isn't my fault, and 2: I do not give a ---- anymore... And I
will continue not to give a ---- until such time that I start giving a
---- again.
And when will that happen? I don't know... and really I don't give a ----. :)
